Andy from the Vulcan Restoration Trust contacted us and asked for our help in reconditioning the injector pump fitted to the power unit for the Vulcan Bomber that the charity maintains. With such an exciting opportunity, our senior engineer, Mick got straight to work. With a wealth of knowledge spanning over 40 years, Mick restored the pump to its original condition.
The Trust is responsible for the preservation and maintenance of the magnificent Avro Vulcan B2 XL426 bomber. Their commitment and hard work mean that such an important part of aviation history is maintained at an incredibly high standard.
When Andy contacted us again, it was the vintage Mercury Tug that needed the pump and injectors reconditioning. This excellent example of a 1970s Dennis-Mercury Aircraft Tug is responsible for moving the Vulcan Bomber from the hanger to the strip. Our engineer Jim tackled the pump and Jamie, our newest engineer reconditioned all 8 injectors. Between them they restored the pump and injectors to our high standards.
The whole team at Sheaf Diesel Services takes great pride in assisting this extraordinary charity to continue their excellent work. We hope that their future endeavours with the Vulcan, and their tribute to the service men and women who worked with the Vulcan throughout the Cold War, proceeds to grow from strength to strength.
